[arrl-odv:30875] Brazil proposes to end amateur radio examinations

The devil is in the details. A new entry level with absolutely no exam, and the higher levels upon presenting some sort of certificate, which I can only assume is contingent upon training. http://southgatearc.org/news/2020/september/brazil-proposes-end-of-all-amate... 73 Ria, N2RJ

Apparently 2 weeks ago, LABRE (the Brazilian society) met with ANATEL to talk about dropping the CW examination portion of the tests. The announcement about dropping all testing took LABRE by complete surprise because ANATEL had never mentioned it before their announcement. Gustavo PT2ADM said LABRE is meeting with ANATEL today and he said he would let me know the outcome of the meeting. More later it appears. Could be an opportunity for LABRE to get involved in conducting the amateur exams. 73, Rod ____________________________________ Rod Stafford W6ROD ARRL Int'l Affairs Vice President www.flickr.com/rodstaffordphotography -----Original Message----- From: arrl-odv [mailto:arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org] On Behalf Of rjairam@gmail.com Sent: Monday, September 7, 2020 11:39 AM To: ODV <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:30875] Brazil proposes to end amateur radio examinations The devil is in the details.
