[arrl-odv:20116] FW: January 2012 Board Meeting Location

Hello all - I like the idea of visiting a warmer climate during January. There are some good deals on flights to major hub cities, like Dallas, Orlando...etc. It's something to explore. 73, Joyce KA2ANF Subject: January 2012 Board Meeting Location 28 JUL 2011 - 2307 CDT In the course of conversations over the past several weeks, the topic of the January 2012 board meeting location has come up. Unless the majority of the directors vote to hold a board meeting away from the ARRL headquarters area, these meetings are automatically held in Connecticut. I may be wrong about this, but it appears that the time may be ripe for another January board meeting away from the often wintery weather hassle in Connecticut. During the discussion leading up to our last away-from-Connecticut board meeting in Houston, Texas, the question about board meeting costs away from headquarters was again raised. Dave Sumner then stated that the total meeting cost difference between a Connecticut venue and one in another state was inconsequential. Now that the ability of New Orleans to host visitors has been fully restored I suggest we hold our next board meeting there, or at some equivalent (warm) location with good airline service. BTW, I could have used the OD reflector, but I want to test everybody's direct email address. Please feel free to respond via the OD reflector. 73 - Dick, W9GIG

I like Dick's idea! NOLA is pretty nice in January! I'm sure K5MC will agree that the Delta Division would be proud to "host" the Jan 2012 BoD meeting in the French Quarter or close by! Capitol fun and damned good food! 73 David A. ODV, Yes, New Orleans would be a great location. (However, I must point out that the Saints might be hosting the NFC Championship game that weekend!) 73, K5MC ________________________________ From: David A.
