There is unofficial word today that Kathy Berthot in the Enforcement Division of FCC has selected an individual to replace Riley Hollingsworth and is ready to name the new Special Counsel for Amateur Enforcement but the Chairman won't authorize the hiring. This is consistent with what we have previously been told and what has previously been reported to you. This hiring freeze is not unique to this specific position but Commission wide. We are continuing to pressure the Chairman's office to move on this, but to no avail yet. Chris is continuing to contact the Chairman's office about an in-person meeting in an attempt to move this forward quickly, but so far we do not have any confirmation for such. 73 Joel W5ZN
