[arrl-odv:29978] gotomeeting accounts

The ARRL used to maintain a couple gotomeeting accounts that could be reserved for free just by calling HQ. K9RFZ used that service for section meetings when he served as the Indiana SM. Are these accounts still available? If so, what does it take in these tough times to use these accounts? Carl K9LA Central Div Vice Dir

Carl: I know we still have those accounts. I believe one is a GoToMeeting and the other is a GoToWebinar account. You can call Ken Bailey (860) 594-0227 to schedule usage. Typically they are for organizational or Board uses. I wasn’t aware of them being used by SMs but I’ve been gone for a while. 73, Barry, N1VXY From: arrl-odv <arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> On Behalf Of Carl Luetzelschwab Sent: Friday, March 27, 2020 10:13 AM To: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:29978] gotomeeting accounts The ARRL used to maintain a couple gotomeeting accounts that could be reserved for free just by calling HQ. I've been using the GoToWebinar account to give division updates to several clubs with great success. I've been scheduling, in advance, with Ken Bailey (via email) to avoid scheduling conflicts. Members have been very appreciative and I encourage my fellow board members to explore doing the same. 73, Matt Holden KØBBC Director, Dakota Division, American Radio Relay League Director, Association of Emergency Radio Organizations President, Bloomington Amateur Radio Association Deputy Director, Bloomington AUXCOMM On Fri, Mar 27, 2020 at 9:17 AM Shelley, Barry, N1VXY (CEO) < bshelley@arrl.org> wrote:

I use a zoom account paid for out of my division budget. I’ve been loaning it to clubs for meetings as well. They certainly appreciate it. Ria N2RJ On Fri, Mar 27, 2020 at 11:09 AM Matt Holden <mtholde@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello Carl; I do have a Zoom Pro that I have been using for the CEO Search committeesince February, please let me know if you need that - Also, HQ staff is looking atproviding a (discounted) account for each of the Division DIrectors, but I am notsure of the progress of that detail. 73, Kermit W9XA On Friday, March 27, 2020, 9:13:31 AM CDT, Carl Luetzelschwab <carlluetzelschwab@gmail.com> wrote: The ARRL used to maintain a couple gotomeeting accounts that could be reserved for free just by calling HQ. I have a zoom pro account as well. For up to 100 attendees, unlimited time, it is only $150/year. It is easier to use and more bandwidth friendly than GoToMeeting and WEBEX, and supports almost all OS’s and devices. Since we’re not traveling for a few months, it’s probably a good investment of our division budget. 73, Mickey N4MB On Fri, Mar 27, 2020 at 1:09 PM Kermit Carlson via arrl-odv < arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> wrote:

Hello Mickey - Absolutely, this will be essential. Right now like most of us Ihave three meetings scheduled which would have involved travelin the next two weeks. Given the quality and ease of using Zoom this method will definitely be part of a bigger change away from weekday night travel in order to present at club meetings. Going forward I do expect that the lower carbon-footprint and lower expense of teleconferencing will be much more the norm for a lot of"gatherings" even after the present situation is over.
