[arrl-odv:35157] More gunpowder for the SMC petition supporters?

I think they mean “long wave” as below 500 KHz. Long wave broadcast band was what, 150 KHz to 300 KHz or something? Long wave had great ground wave reach in the second and third world environments. Another end of an era though BBC ended their well-regarded shortwave service (HF) years ago, at least to North America. That is outside the Medium wave HF stuff that the petitioners want. That petition is not going to be supported by NTIA and others I suspect anyway. NTIA did file late comments opposed to the SMC petition, attached. While not as strong or inclusive as they might have been, they made their opposition known – seemingly at the instigation of the Coast Guard. 73, Dave K3ZJ From: arrl-odv <arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> on behalf of "Famiglio, Bob, K3RF (Dir, AD)" <k3rf@arrl.org> Date: Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 1:11 PM To: "w7vo@comcast.net" <w7vo@comcast.net>, "arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org" <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:35158] Re: More gunpowder for the SMC petition supporters?
