[arrl-odv:14196] Have a Safe and Happy Fourth of July

Greetings, As the organization promoting the Amateur Radio Service in the United States and making a positive impact around the world, we take special pleasure in celebrating Independence Day. Each year we gather with family and friends to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in which America's founding fathers declared to the world that all are created equal, with certain inalienable rights including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Of course, this action changed the course of history. To that end, I am proud of the truly historical and noble work that radio amateurs are performing around the world. From saving lives in disaster stricken areas, pursuing personal advancement and education in a number of technical and public service areas, and just plain having fun in the many areas of enjoyment amateur radio offers. Tuesday we will celebrate the 230th birthday of the United States by flying the flag, enjoying picnics, watching fireworks, and counting our blessings. We are grateful for our liberty and for the men and women in uniform who help keep us safe..many of them among our ranks as radio amateurs. 73 for a safe and happy Fourth of July, Joel W5ZN ARRL President
