[arrl-odv:23237] Rep. Sam Graves (MO-6) will co-sponsor HR 4969

Matt Keelen and I just finished a conference call with Rep. Sam Graves' legislative director and legislative assistant in Washington, and his Field Representative from Kansas City. There's good news! At the conclusion of our conference, they advised us that Rep. Graves will contact Rep. Kinzinger's office and add his name to the co-sponsors of HR 4969. They said it would probably be some time in early September after they return to the Hill before his name will show up on the list. I had exchanged a number of calls and letters with the Congressman's office over the past month, and he seemed generally supportive of the bill, but Matt and I finally were able to close the deal this morning! Matt formerly worked in Rep. Graves' office and was a big help in getting this done! I will get out a letter to all the ARRL members in the MO-6 District asking them to thank Rep. Graves for his co-sponsorship and support of the bill. Cliff K0CA

Excellent news Cliff. Thanks to you and your team for all of the hard work you have put into this! Brilliant, Cliff. Nice work! This is exceptional, and we are getting tantalizingly close to the magic 30 cosponsor number that TKG and Dave Redl, the subcommittee counsel, separately mentioned as a target number. So that everyone knows, we have some commitments for cosponsors beyond what will show up today on Thomas or one of the other web sites that track these things because no cosponsor can sign on during the August recess, as Cliff indicates. Thank you so much for the good effort, Cliff! 73, Chris W3KD On Thu, Aug 28, 2014 at 10:35 AM, Cliff Ahrens <cliff.ahrens@gmail.com> wrote:

Brilliant! Now, more than ever, we need to keep the fires lit under members to get their Congressmen on board. We can do this. 73 - Kay N3KN
