[arrl-odv:22801] Preliminary Call, ARRL Board Meeting

June 5, 2014 ARRL OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AND VICE DIRECTORS: In accordance with Standing Order 19, you are hereby notified that the formal call for the 2014 Second Meeting of the ARRL Board of Directors, Monday and Tuesday, July 21-22, 2014, will be sent on or about June 20. As you know the meeting dates were changed from the norm because of the Centennial National Convention. The convention concludes on Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning and early afternoon are available for committee meetings. A grassroots legislative training session is scheduled for 2 PM Sunday afternoon. A group dinner is scheduled for Sunday evening, July 20. The Board meeting will begin at 9:00 AM Monday and is expected to be completed by lunchtime on Tuesday. Our meeting will be held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, 200 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT, adjacent to the Connecticut Convention Center that is the site of our Centennial National Convention. Please note the provisions of Article 10 of the ARRL Articles of Association: These articles may be amended by a three-fourths vote of all Directors, or, provided due notice of the proposed amendment shall have been placed in the mail to each Director at least thirty days in advance, by a two-thirds vote of all Directors. The Board of Directors may from time to time adopt By-Laws not inconsistent with the Articles and applicable statutes. By-Laws may be amended by a three-fourths vote of all Directors, or, provided due notice of the proposed amendment shall be mailed to each Director at least thirty days in advance, by a two-thirds vote of all Directors. Notices shall be sent by First-Class mail or electronic mail to the last known address to each Director. Standing Order 04-1.39 (amended January 2005) reads: "The Board of Directors authorizes the attendance of Vice Directors at Board meetings. Expenses for attendance will be chargeable to the Board Meeting account." Sincere 73, David Sumner, K1ZZ Secretary

Dave, Usually there are 2 group dinners scheduled along with the Board meeting: the evening before the Board meeting begins (committee day), and the evening of the first day of the Board meeting. Your Preliminary Call lists only the first of these (Sunday night) for the upcoming meeting. Is the second of these group dinners not scheduled this time due to the curtailed schedule on Tuesday, or is there still an additional group dinner scheduled for Monday night? I'm not pushing for there to be a second group dinner, only trying to fit in other activities around the Board schedule. 73, Greg, K0GW On Thu, Jun 5, 2014 at 12:10 PM, Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ <dsumner@arrl.org> wrote:
