Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe has appointed ARRL President Joel Harrison, W5ZN, to a four year term on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority. Harrison's appointment was approved by the Arkansas Senate.

The Arkansas Science & Technology Authority (the Authority) was created by statute in 1983 with the mission to bring the benefits of science and advanced technology to the people and state of Arkansas. This mission is addressed by strategies to promote scientific research, technology development, business innovation, and math, science and engineering education.

"It's an honor to be appointed by Governor Beebe to serve the people of Arkansas in this area that recognizes not only my professional accomplishments but those related to Amateur Radio as well", Harrison said.
