In further full disclosure, one of the candidates came to my home club's meeting this morning. He had contacted the President (which is not me) and asked for a few minutes to speak. He spoke for about 5 minutes. The other candidate did not make any request to speak before the club. If he had, he would have been given an equal opportunity to speak. While I did greet him (we already know each other), I remained in the back of the room and said nothing before, during, or after his brief comments to the club. After the meeting, the candidate and I exchanged brief pleasantries in the back of the room while he was getting ready to leave. (For anyone that has a question as to the accuracy of my reporting or my integrity, I will be happy to obtain sworn affidavits from club members and visitors that were present at the meeting.)
