Sales and Marketing Reported by Bob Inderbitzen, NQ1R Diane Petrilli reports that October ended with 168,627 members, 1,742 members ahead of the year-to-date goal. This represents a gain from September of 1,159 members; a gain of 632 was forecasted. The on-time renewal rate for October is 71.77% vs. 68.79% last October. Acquisition by direct mail has been yielding great results. Our participation at Pacificon bumped-up acquisition through the field. And, targeted e-mails were sent to online guest users, prospective hams, active non-member VEs, and non-member ARRL Exam Review users. Jackie Ferriera reports that October product sales were $405,400-our biggest month of the year, and exceeding the sales forecast of $385,084. Direct sales were $253,229 (up 14% from Oct 2014); dealer sales were $152,171. Royalties earned on sales of our Kindle e-books were $5,620 ($5,909 last month). A direct mail piece featuring new editions of the ARRL Handbook and ARRL Antenna Book contributed $64,374 in sales this month. We're off to a good start in November! There were 502 orders received over the Halloween weekend-more than double the orders received this same weekend last year (235). Bob Inderbitzen attended an all-day conference in New York City, sponsored by the Media & Content Marketing Association.
