[arrl-odv:15555] Technician License Class Scheduled

As part of the 2007 Field Day activities at ARRL, we will be offering a One Day Technician License Course. The course will be taught by Mary Hobart and will be an extensive and concentrated offering. The course will be taught in two sessions at ARRL HQ. Session One will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday June 22nd with Session Two on Saturday June 23rd from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You will need to attend both sessions. There is no fee for the course itself. A One Day Technician License course requires that the student will have read the study material before the start of the class. It is designed to help guide the student through the subject matter, answering questions on concepts on material in a "cram" session immediately before the test. We have not previously offered this type of course at ARRL HQ but it is a method that has had good success in many other places. After the course, there will be an open exam session held at ARRL HQ on Saturday June 23rd at 2:00 PM. Remember that there is a $14 exam fee charged at all ARRL exams. If you wish to participate in this course, please send an email to Mary Hobart at mhobart@arrl.org Once you sign up with her, go to see Penny in the lobby and pick up a copy of the new Technician class license manual (as an employee you can get it for free - just fill out the form). If you have questions, contact Mary or me... AND After taking your exam and passing, make sure you plan on spending time participating in Field Day from W1AW. We will have lots of on-the-air opportunities for you to pursue. Be part of the largest on-the-air amateur radio operating event held each year! Watch for coming announcements for FD2007! NOW is the time for you to get "Bitten by the Bug" Thanks!!! Dan Henderson, N1ND Regulatory Information Specialist ARRL - The national association for Amateur Radio 860-594-0236 dhenderson@arrl.org
