[arrl-odv:24084] HR 1301: participate sign with logo

To All, I realize our graphics gurus could whip up something a bit more elaborate, but here is the sign we used at the Charlotte Hamfest to raise awareness of the letter writing campaign on the ARRL table. If useful to you, feel free to use it. This is from the NC SM, Karl Bowman W4CHX. Jim, that's a nice sign and is about as effective as anyone could do. I realize the graphic came from the ARRL website carousel, but after seeing it (and after it sank in that a picture of a tower and a stack of yagis might come back to bite us) I asked that it be changed and it was replaced by the Capitol Dome (pre-scaffolding) version that is now up there. How truly sad that 96 years after Maxim successfully lobbied for the reincarnation of Amateur Radio, that we are so ashamed of our heritage that we must dissemble before the very Congress that he proudly and aggressively lobbied. It is not the logo/graphic per se — almost any professionally rendered graphic/logo will do (/well, so long as it is not x-rated/) and the unsullied Capitol Dome is as good as any other; it is the sentiment that accompanies the swift hiding of the original — /oh, what will become of us, if the neighbor's learn Pearl is really one of those people/. 73 *-----------------------------------------------------* ** John Robert Stratton N5AUS Office telephone: 512-445-6262 Cell: 512-426-2028 PO Box 2232 Austin, Texas 78768-2232 *-----------------------------------------------------* On 3/17/15 8:06 AM, Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ wrote:
