[arrl-odv:13421] Re: 2005 contributions

Just as a further reminder, there's about two weeks left in 2005 to fulfill pledges and make contributions to meet Mary's 100% participation objective. Especially for Life Members, the Diamond Club is a great option. Go to www.arrl.org/diamondclub/ for details and a signup form. And thanks to all of you who have already participated. I promise this is the last time you will hear from me this year on the subject! 73, Dave Sumner, K1ZZ -----Original Message----- From: Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ [mailto:dsumner@arrl.org] Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 10:11 AM To: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:13277] 2005 contributions To the Board Family: Each of you devotes many hours of volunteer time to the ARRL. Internally we recognize this as a priceless contribution for which the ARRL is forever in your debt. As Chief Development Officer Mary Hobart has mentioned in the past, one of the standard questions she encounters from potential donors and grantors is whether the ARRL Board is fully supportive of the development program. For a non-profit organization that seeks voluntary contributions, the norm for Board participation is 100% --- that is, each Board member is expected to contribute. We met that last year, but are a few contributions short for 2005. As we enter the holiday season and the final weeks of the year, if you have not already done so please consider which ARRL development fund you would like to support. Everyone's capacity for giving is different, but even a few dollars means the difference between Mary's being able to say the Board is 100% supportive vs. having to hem and haw when the question comes up -- and that could make an enormous difference to a donor. Thanks for all you do for Amateur Radio through the ARRL. 73, Dave Sumner, K1ZZ
