A special thank you to Michael Scharr for driving the van; to Margie Bourgoin and Alli Barbieri for helping with the Board books; to Penny Harts for helping with the goodie table in the lobby; to Sharon Taratula and staff; to Monique Levesque for setting and arranging things for the Committee meetings; and to Steve Ford for taking pictures at the hotel. I want to especially acknowledge and thank Andy Shefrin for working with the Marriott technicians in making all presentation and computer equipment run like a charm. Development Reported by Lauren Clarke, KB1YDD December was a busy month for Development; nearly $124,000 came in from contributions to the Diamond Club, Spectrum Defense, W1AW Endowment, Education & Technology, and smaller funds. These donations represent 14 percent of all monies raised for 2013. Final numbers for 2013: Diamond Club Spectrum Defense Education & Technology* 2013 Goal: $300,000 $385,000 $65,000 Net Revenue: $302,777 $294,414 $79,313 % of Goal: 101% 76% 122% *does not include $94,194 in revenues specifically donated to support Teachers Institutes. Membership & Volunteer Programs Reported by Dave Patton, NN1N Field Organization/Public Service Team Chuck Skolaut compiled and forwarded the monthly ARRL Monitoring System/Intruder Watch report to the IARU Region 2 Coordinator. He also gathered information for the monthly Official Observer Summary and sent it to all OOs, OOCs, and Section Managers. Updated information was received regarding continuing unidentified interference to the YL Net on 14.332 MHz. This was forwarded to the FCC. Interference was reported on local repeaters in Connecticut and Illinois, and local Official Observers are investigating. Several reports of possible bootlegging of calls were also reported. Updated information was also received regarding interference on 7.195 MHz and several issues on 75 meters which OOs are checking on. One radio amateur and member from Michigan successfully completed certification to become an Official Observer this past week. Leona Adams has been corresponding to all the Section Managers from the last election cycle who will begin their new terms of office in the spring and/or participated in the last completed Section Manager election. Leona also has been adding to or updating the main Field Organization data base with information supplied by the Section Leaders. Virginia Section Manager election ballots from have been arriving in the mail. The Virginia members have until February 14th to have their ballot to arrive at Headquarters. Steve Ewald turned in some reports to support the work and on-going studies by members of the Programs and Services Committee. The committee met at ARRL HQ prior to the Board's Annual Meeting.
