[ARRL-ODV:7406] Re: Section News QST and the Web, Part 2

Perhaps it is a cost cutting move (if that is still necessary), but eliminating a section that is part of the soul of our organization from our journal is certainly NOT a move ahead. I still believe, after having read the recent posts and considering this issue, that we are not yet at the point where it should be removed completely. Perhaps Jim's suggestion of running both the web page and the QST pages then taking a survey to see what the readership has been for both and how it is shifting would be wise. Certainly in my view the idea of sending post cards is not workable (being kind). I do like the idea of making the type size in QST larger and publishing the section news in 4-5 contiguous page summary form (a la RSGB and no intervening ads), and referring the reader to the web page for details.
