[ARRL-ODV:11803] Re: Snow far, snow good

Looks like I was home before the Pacific duo although I was the LAST one out of the Marriott for my 7 PM Monday flight to Dulles and on to Chicago. I arrived at the house at 12:02 AM Tuesday CST. We made the best of it, watching the playoffs, hanging out in the restaurant, etc, so overall it wasn't that bad. I bet we're in that final heat for last place. (Heat -- yes, that would be good). At 07:35 AM 1/24/2005, you wrote:
Kay,
You should have come back to the Marriott. There are about 20 of us here waiting to get out later today !!!

Who will win the prize (a stale pretzel and some flat soda pop) for being the last to get home from the Board meeting on account of the blizzard? The Philly airport closed before my Saturday afternoon flight could take off from BDL, and between the closure there and the all-day closure at BDL on Sunday ... Well, I toasted the Eagles victory over Atlanta in a hotel bar near the airport. Wearing an Eagles t-shirt into a bar full of Patriots fans is a character-building experience!
I'm writing this at my gate at BDL Monday morning about 9 AM, and we are assured the 9:25 AM flight to Philly *will* go, albeit somewhat late.
Here's hoping everybody either is home already or will be there soon. Safely.
