[arrl-odv:24878] Contest Certificate Confusion

Hi, Dave. Last week I received a certificate in the mail for last year's 10m Contest. The certificate was made out to Barry N6VOH. I dismissed it as a random envelope-stuffing error and took the wallpaper to Barry when I saw him on Saturday. Then I saw traffic on the SCCC reflector indicating the same thing had happened to others. Most unusual was that, in all cases, the mailing label had the callsign of the certificate winner appended to someone else's name and address. For example, my envelope was addressed to "Marty Woll N6VOH, 21301 Candice Place, Chatsworth CA 91311". It sure appears there is a systemic problem here. Everyone involved is a League member, and the member database seems to be intact. Would you please have the staff look into what happened, how widespread the problem is and whether a whole new batch of certificates will have to be mailed? 73, Marty, N6VI

Marty, the explanation was posted on the website last Wednesday. See http://www.arrl.org/news/some-2014-arrl-10-meter-contest-certificates-mailed... Yesterday Linda received her division winner's certificate from the amateur in New York to whom it was sent. 73, Dave K1ZZ From: Woll, Marty, N6VI Sent: Tuesday, December 01, 2015 9:33 AM To: Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ Cc: arrl-odv Subject: Contest Certificate Confusion Hi, Dave.
