This is just an FYI to the Board. Near the close of business yesterday (approx 4:30 pm) a smoke detector in the computer data center was set off. Its not known exactly what caused it but there was no fire. It may have been dust however there was apparently a small amount of smoke and an acrid smell. Whatever the cause, our security system worked, alarms sounded, the fire department was notified and arrived at HQ. The building was evacuated for a short time until they determined there was no fire. All the computer equipment was checked and is running. There was no damage. We've also checked all the circuitry in that room and, again there was no indication of anything amiss. We will have Sonitrol in first thing on Monday to check out their equipment as well since the initial report from the security system was that someone had pulled a fire alarm, not that a smoke detector had been triggered.
