[arrl-odv:22653] Amazon Smile Program

The 3/28/2014 IN-News had the following item: “Jackie Ferreira reports that ARRL has been registered as a charitable organization on AmazonSmile. When anyone shops on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com) and selects American Radio Relay League Inc. (ARRL) as a charity of choice, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to ARRL. This has yet to be introduced to ARRL members, but anyone who shops on Amazon can visit smile.amazon.com for more information and how to get started.“ I’ve signed up for it and will have spent about $1k thru it by the end of the month. While that only translates to $5 to the League, it’s “easy money”. I’ve sent out an email to my Division letting them know about it. Is there a plan to advertise this to the entire membership? Thanks & 73, Doug Doug Rehman, K4AC Director Southeastern Division ARRL—The National Association for Amateur Radio® <mailto:doug@k4ac.com> doug@k4ac.com <http://www.arrlse.org/> www.arrlse.org <http://www.facebook.com/arrlse> www.facebook.com/arrlse

Yes, Doug, there is. Thanks for promoting it in your division email. 73, Dave K1ZZ From: arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org [mailto:arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org] On Behalf Of Rehman, Doug, K4AC Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2014 2:55 PM To: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:22653] Amazon Smile Program The 3/28/2014 IN-News had the following item: “Jackie Ferreira reports that ARRL has been registered as a charitable organization on AmazonSmile. One thing that was pointed out to me by a member replying to my Division email is that for the purchases to count for the Smile program, they need to be done by starting out at smile.amazon.com. While I did include that in my email, it could have been made more prominent. I’ll point it out more clearly in our next Division update email. Interestingly, in the short time since the email went out, I’ve already received several extremely positive replies. Here’s an excerpt from one, “Just wanted to let you know that I signed up to contribute to the ARRL via Amazon Smile. This is the kind of innovative fundraising that I like to see out the Newington.” Doug K4AC From: Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ [mailto:dsumner@arrl.org] Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2014 2:56 PM To: k4ac; arrl-odv Subject: RE: [arrl-odv:22653] Amazon Smile Program Yes, Doug, there is.
