[ARRL-ODV:10972] Re: ARES Logo, etc

On the pr reflector there has been some talk about it, and have been wondering if there is an effective date, etc. Some one also stated the ARRL logo with the small R could be downloaded from the ARRL web site. They have been using this quote: -----BEGIN QUOTED TEXT-----
Since both ARES and Amateur Radio Emergency Service are registered ARRL service marks, ARES groups are to utilize the R symbol in any printed or electronic media and note that the logo is used by permission.
-----END QUOTED TEXT-----
Others are also questioning if clubs, etc have to also use the new policy. I think this would apply to affiliated clubs as well as Special Service groups. As I was not at the Board meeting, would some one please clarify this. Thanks all. 73, Tuck NZ6T -----Original Message----- From: n5ok.ok@att.net [mailto:n5ok.ok@att.net] Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2004 11:39 AM To: arrl-odv Subject: [ARRL-ODV:10971] ARES Logo, etc Hi All, I've had a couple of e-mails asking what on earth were we thinking concerning the copyright of the ARES logo. One of them said that you are asking us to use the copyright symbol and in the latest articles on the ARRL web site, you are not using it. Oooops! Anyone else hearing this?
