Hello ALL - The ARRL Lab announced a revised and new version of the RF Safety Calculator in yesterday's InNews - http://arrl.org/rf-exposure-calculator As it notes in the InNews, there are a few additional changesto be made before it is linked to the ARRL.org/RF-Exposure webpage. Thanks to Ed Hare and Dave Minster for getting this pageestablished and to Dr. Greg Lapin and the RF Safety Committeefor their efforts. The programming behind the webpage is a derivative of the initial programming work of Wayne Overbeck, N6NB. 73, Kermit Carlson W9XA

I tried it out, looks pretty slick to me. Congrats (and thanks) to all. 73, Dave K3ZJ From: arrl-odv <arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> on behalf of Kermit Carlson via arrl-odv <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Reply-To: Kermit Carlson <w9xa@yahoo.com> Date: Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:13 AM To: Arrl-odv <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:32557] RF Exposure Calculator announced Hello ALL - The ARRL Lab announced a revised and new version of the RF Safety Calculator in yesterday's InNews - http://arrl.org/rf-exposure-calculator As it notes in the InNews, there are a few additional changes to be made before it is linked to the ARRL.org/RF-Exposure webpage. Hello Ria, There was some ongoing discussion in the RF Safety groupabout a few specific details. They should find consensusand report back very soon. The best part of this being "in-house" isthat the Committee can adapt it for any future changes. See you in a few days. 73, Kermit On Saturday, July 10, 2021, 10:09:32 AM CDT, rjairam@gmail.com <rjairam@gmail.com> wrote: Looks great! When will this be published? This is really great! Two nits of feedback. One is, it would be nice to have a metric option for the minimum safe distance. The other is that the results display seems to vary in color saturation from browser to browser. Even comparing macOS to iOS gives different results, and in all cases the text appears grayed out. It looks like a editable text field with editing disabled. It’s hard to read in some cases. Can we just display the text, instead of using a text box, and make it more bold? I wasn’t actually sure where the results were at first because of the light color saturation. It’s really important with web apps to check the results on a wide array of browsers and operating systems. iPadOS Safari: [cid:B0A5C8F1-0B8F-4EB8-A877-3CD55533DCC4] macOS Safari: [cid:214CE089-9844-4975-9DA4-DA8AD2B742D1] macOS Firefox: [cid:0714D766-B79C-40B1-B2D4-A29E95BA088A] macOS Brave: [cid:F9B3C540-201C-42F5-A6B4-273FEE369CDF] On Jul 10, 2021, at 7:12 AM, Kermit Carlson via arrl-odv <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org<mailto:arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org>> wrote: Hello ALL - The ARRL Lab announced a revised and new version of the RF Safety Calculator in yesterday's InNews - http://arrl.org/rf-exposure-calculator As it notes in the InNews, there are a few additional changes to be made before it is linked to the ARRL.org/RF-Exposure<http://ARRL.org/RF-Exposure> webpage. I’ll add my opinion and maybe this is something they are working on for the next release so apologies if it is. After I ran through it my next step was to save it so I have the record of completing the calculation. It would be nice if there is a Print or Save button. Yes there are ways to do it with a few extra steps, a save button makes it so much easier. Hello ALL - The requested changes to the RF Safety Calculator have been made.to the webpage http://www.arrl.org/rf-exposure-calculatorScott WF4STR of the ARRL staff completed the following; - The display fields for the results should look correct and legible in all browsers. - - He Added a field to display distance in meters - - Instructions are now on a separate, linked page (http://www.arrl.org/rf-exposure-calc-instructions) which will open in a new tab/window for easy access back to the calculator. The help links in the form are updated to reflect this change, too. - - There is now a print button. There are display rules to hide content not be printed and the page all fits on one 8x10. This will pick up on the users local default print settings. Since Windows 10, printing to PDF is built-in option. Users just need to select it from their printer list. My thanks to Scott for completing these changes on Tuesday... 73, Kermit Carlson W9XA On Saturday, July 10, 2021, 8:13:16 PM CDT, Kermit Carlson via arrl-odv <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> wrote: Hello Kristen and Bill I have passed your comments along to Ed and he is working with Greg, and they will work with IT on Monday for edits. 73, Kermit W9XA Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone On Saturday, July 10, 2021, 17:15, AC0W - Bill <ac0wmoo11@gmail.com> wrote: I’ll add my opinion and maybe this is something they are working on for the next release so apologies if it is.
