[Fwd: Fw: [CQ-Contest] DID WE BUY SOME TIME?]

The attached was forwarded to me by VDirector Vallio. The email reminds us that the Board received a letter from Jim Edelson, K1IR. Is someone going to reply to him? If so, who, and what will it say? I think they're trying to be responsible, and we should give them a cautious "yes," and then follow with some explanation of the League's problems, plus questions of them 73. Jim, W6CF

I agree we should respond but I think it should be an exchange as set forth in the motion rather than a negotiation. Perhaps a "what do you have in mind?" could be directed to K1IR by K1KI with the follow-up along the line you suggested. It seems to me a small working group such as MSC, VRC and A&F chairs would be an orderly way to proceed. In any event we should start soon. 73, Jay KØQB -----Original Message----- From: jmax@attglobal.net [mailto:jmax@attglobal.net] Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 9:05 PM To: arrl-odv@arrl.org Subject: [ARRL-ODV:6867] [Fwd: Fw: [CQ-Contest] DID WE BUY SOME TIME?] << Message: Fw: [CQ-Contest] DID WE BUY SOME TIME? Since the letter went from 13 clubs to all Directors, I think it's better if the response comes from K1ZZ or W5JBP, and sent a note earlier asking for it. Also, after my comments to Walt that his message was a bit "rigid" sounding, he suggested that it would be good for me (and more Directors) to comment, so there isn't just one perspective (his) distributed. -- Tom ===== e-mail: k1ki@arrl.org ARRL New England Division Director http://www.arrl.org/ Tom Frenaye, K1KI, P O Box J, West Suffield CT 06093 Phone: 860-668-5444
