[arrl-odv:33079] CONFIDENTIAL: Anonymous letter

Roughly two weeks ago I notified Rick Roderick that we had received word that a prior employee was engaging other prior employees to participate in a jointly signed letter to the Board. This has, we believe, manifested itself in the anonymous letter you have received or will be receiving shortly. It appears it is being sent to all ARRL Directors. Due to the nature of what has been communicated to the Board, I am meeting with CT counsel tomorrow to discuss this matter. The steps that we have been taking with managing ARRL HQ culture and staff has been regularly and reliably communicated to both EC and A&F. It is unfortunate that with all the important work we have to do going into the January board meeting, this has become a distraction to getting that work done. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call me. Thanks. David

I haven’t received anything here. 73; Mike W7VO Sent from my iPhone

Perhaps you can scan and post on ODV? Is it just some grumbling, or is there a threat of a class action lawsuit against the League? David didn’t detail what this is all about. Now I’m curious…. 73; Mike W7VO Sent from my iPhone

I would NOT post this anywhere. This letter is inflammatory and potentially a legal issue and we, as board members, should hold this as confidential proprietary information and view it as an unverified employee unsigned complaint. The allegations within are inflammatory 0and unverified. If a director were to disseminate them, people will assume they are true. ODV is NOT a secure email system. You’ll get yours in due time. Be patient. I’m not planning on even scanning it. This document is an unsigned attempt at career assassination, likely sent by an ex-employee. After reading it, I remain a supporter of our CEO. As many of you know, I have expertise in forensic discovery as well as document protection. This document is best left on paper. We do not need multiple scanned copies of this floating around. You do not want the copy off your scanner to land in some attorney’s discovery package or in the media. When a copy surfaces - and it likely will - we will have a better chance of dealing with it appropriately if it comes from the original author.
