[ARRL-ODV:11577] Re: revised bandwidth proposal text?

I tend to agree with Jim F's assessment. The limited info already provided members helped, but if this could be expanded - maybe as a supplement to the initial overview given them - I think we would accomplish two things. First, we'd continue to build a sense of "they listen to what we say after all" with members as well as to demonstrate we believe members can make meaningful contributions as demonstrated by the changes "we" made as a result of their input. A third benefit is that we may actually benefit, again, from legitimate suggestions from members. Dave, I think it would be desirable as members would like to know we are moving forward. An interim update will allow members to understand current status and provide additional input. Plus, the Board (other than EC) won't be seen as uninformed. Not yet, Tom. I thought it would be better to wait until after the January Board meeting, since there are likely to be further revisions and bringing the EC recommended revisions on board might signal more finality than is appropriate. But I'll be glad to do it if you think it's desirable. Is there a revision to the public version of the Bandwidth petition available to the public that incorporates the revisions recommended by the Executive Committee? I've had a couple of requests from people looking for one. -- Tom ===== e-mail: k1ki@arrl.org ARRL New England Division Director http://www.arrl.org/ Tom Frenaye, K1KI, P O Box J, West Suffield CT 06093 Phone: 860-668-5444
