[arrl-odv:23145] HR4969 meeting in CA-30

I met this morning with John Alford, senior policy deputy for Rep. Brad Sherman (D), in whose district (CA-30) I live. He was very receptive to our message and said he expected that Rep. Sherman would be as well. That said, he advised me that the Representative would likely seek input from the in-state Democrats on the House Energy & Commerce Committee before making a decision or taking any action. Those California-based E&C members are: Henry Waxman (CA-33) Anna Eshoo (CA-18) Lois Capps (CA-24) Doris Matsui (CA-6) Jerry McNerney (CA-9) All but Capps and Waxman serve districts within the Pacific Division. Has anyone from HQ or the Pacific Division had any contact with those representatives yet? Failing that, what contacts have we had, if any, with Democrats from other states serving on Energy & Commerce? Has anyone run into a similar roadblock while attempting to gain co-sponsorship of our bill? If so, how did you deal with it? 73, Marty N6VI

Marty, Kay and I met with Eshoo's office and Matsui's office at the end of July and frankly, neither meeting went all that swimmingly, but they haven't said no (or yes) yet. I don't know about the other three but Frank McCarthy will know if we have been in to those offices yet. The Eshoo problem is that we met with a guy who was kind of clueless and we need to make another run at Eshoo for sure, and soon. I have a good close relationship with McNerney's LA from a lot of contacts with her for another client and I will visit with her shortly. Very nice lady by the name of Shilpa Rajan. Frank, can you get me in to see her or shall I set up an appointment directly with Shilpa? Chris On Wed, Aug 13, 2014 at 3:49 PM, Marty Woll <n6vi@socal.rr.com> wrote:
