I wanted to give everyone a heads up (hopefully) before booking your flights for the Centennial Convention and Board Meeting. I have multiple motions to amend the Articles/By-Laws that I will be submitting in the next week or so (before the deadline) and several other motions as well. I know there was talk of being able to conclude the Board Meeting early Tuesday so that members can return home that afternoon, but I’m not certain that will remain a possibility in light of the forthcoming motions. I realize that it is already going to be a long week for everyone, but as the next scheduled Board meeting will not be until half-a year later I am compelled to make the motions in July. On a different note, some Board members had previously expressed an interest in taking the NRA’s Basic Pistol course (7-8 hours) which is a prerequisite for a CT concealed weapon permit. We’ve located a range not too far from Hartford where we could run a class either before the Centennial or after the Board Meeting. The cost would be the actual costs divided over the number of students (NRA student packages, ammo, range/classroom rental). As I’m an NRA Instructor, we won’t have to pay one. I’ll also furnish the firearms so there is no rental fee involved. Please let me know off list if you’re interested and a preference of before or after the Convention/Meeting. 73, Doug K4AC
