[ARRL-ODV:10676] Re: Barker Specialty stuff on sale

3 JUN, 2004 - 1730 CDT I too hate to see the short and long sleeved dress shirts go away. However, I can understand why at least the long sleeved ones are being discontinued... they are of very poor quality... at least the blue one I ordered is. The tailoring is poor and the permanent press treatment of this all cotton shirt is non-existent. It arrived looking like it had been slept in, and it must be carefully ironed each time before use... and then it looks slept in the minute I sit down or put a coat or jacket on over it. I have only worn it twice and I may never wear it again. And yes, I have officially complained about it to ARRL staff and have yet to receive a response. On the other hand, the two blue short sleeved cotton/dacron oxford cloth dress shirts I have are great. The tailoring is precise and they can be worn all day and still look very good. I believe Barker Speciality used suppliers in the same country; Guatamala. But I wonder if they used the same supplier. 73 - Dick, W9GIG
