[arrl-odv:14858] Winter Will Finally Arrive Here

30 NOV 2006 - 2055 CST I know the board family members living in Wyoming, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri are also getting whacked by this big mid-western winter storm. We are forecast to receive between 6 and 12 inches of snow in the Chicago metropolitan area between midnite and noon tomorrow. It's been my experience that most of the bad winter storm forecasts in this part of the country never materialize as forecast. However the Chicago Tribune weather section this morning, stated that the 8 major snow storms on December 1st were the opening storm in very snowy winters for Chicago. The last time this happened was in 1978... and we eventually had our snowiest winter on record. Now that I have my big snow thrower ready to go, we will hopefully have much less than forecast. - Dick, W9GIG
