Alan Shark says, among other things, "...there is simply zero empirical evidence that power line communications causes harmful interference with ham radio frequencies.” That is, of course, a bald-faced lie. There is no possibility that Mr. Shark has not encountered "empirical evidence" of the interference.
I have sent him the attached letter by Fax, politely inviting him to issue a retraction. Needless to say, if he does not do so I will not be leaving the matter there.
I must say, I am rather surprised at Alan. He really must be desperate for a second career following the imminent demise of AMTA, the land mobile organization that he has headed for many years now, and which is essentially dead, thanks to Nextel buying out all the AMTA members. His letter is entirely inconsistent with the commitments that he and his attorney, Ray Kowalski made to me at a lunch when BPL first broke: at that time, he and Ray said that if BPL was going to be permitted, it would have to be able to demonstrate that there isn't going to be interference, or that it could resolve that which existed. Now, he is simply denying it, which even FCC isn't claiming. chris
