[arrl-odv:11957] FCC authorizes amateurs in Regions 1 and 3 to use 7100-7200 kHz

The attached document is pretty long and a surprising amount of it is devoted to 40 meters. The bottom line is that FCC licensees operating in FCC-administered territory in Regions 1 and 3 will have early access to 7100-7200 kHz. You will note that in this proceeding, Larry Gandy, AH8LG and ASARA supported the ARRL. We asked him to. We in turn supported them: when Larry was unable to file comments electronically because of a glitch in the FCC's system, Chris Imlay filed them for him and I complained about the glitch to the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau. Larry's efforts were very helpful in getting into the record that FCC licensees outside of Region 2 were actually interested in using 7100-7200 kHz. Dave K1ZZ <<FCC-05-70A1.doc>>
