[arrl-odv:29841] Event Cancellations

Good afternoon: With all the amateur radio events being cancelled due to the coronavirus, we've put a mechanism in place to compile all the information in one place. Eric Casey, our Convention and Event Coordinator, will be posting all of the ones where we've received official confirmation of cancellations to http://www.arrl.org/hamfests/search/canceled . If you become aware of an official cancellation, please direct that information to Eric at hamfests@arrl.org<mailto:hamfests@arrl.org>. Eric will acknowledge each cancellation with the event organizer, and Cc the Director and Vice Director. In this way, we can consolidate the information and not clutter the ARRL News feed with every hamfest and convention cancellation in the country. 73, Barry, N1VXY

Thank you. I’ve been following that protocol but I plan to also put these in my email updates to the Division on a weekly basis now. Hard to believe but there are members who don’t read things unless it’s in email. The events department already does great work so I’m confident they’ve got this one. I forwarded Barry's e-mail to the entire NW Division yesterday, and members here have been sending me follow up e-mails applauding the efforts from HQ. Great job. Most of the local clubs here are switching to virtual meetings using Zoom. Now the next question is: Do I move my station operating positions farther apart for the CQWPX phone contest at the end of the month? ;-) 73; Mike W7VO
