[arrl-odv:24077] W9GIG H.R. 1301 March Trip Data Report

16 MAR 2015 - 1645 CDT Last Tuesday, 10 MAR, I flew to Washington, DC for the purpose of obtaining co-sponsors for H.R. 1301: The Amateur Radio Parity Act of 2015. I spent two full days on The Hill visiting 17 Representatives' offices to request them to again co-sponsor our proposed House Bill. I believe all 17 will again be co-sponsors. I also visited the Senior Policy Advisor to Illinois Senator Richard Durbin to discuss ideas and seek support for a companion Senate Bill. I arrived back home early Friday afternoon with tired feet and voice and a deepened enthusiasm for the ARRL's effort to extend the provisions of PRB-1 to cover private property CC&Rs. I have attached a two page PDF to this message so that you can see the results of my visits on The Hill. I believe there is a good chance of getting this bill passed this year, if we actively participate in this campaign. I don't expect a lot of ARRL directors, or vice directors to travel to Washington, DC. However, we all can ask our Representatives and Senators for support and actively promote the Amateur Radio community to do the same thing. 73 - Dick Isely, W9GIG
