[arrl-odv:30642] No change to FFMA

Just in case members in your division contact you... The PSC discussion topic is already closed. K7CW sent out a wide message asking fellow hams to oppose changes to the Fred Fish Memorial Award (FFMA). Twenty minutes later, I responded, to all, with the following statement: After discussion, at the July 15th PSC teleconference, the Committee decided not to change the criteria to the FFMA. 73, Matt Holden KØBBC Director, Dakota Division, American Radio Relay League Director, Association of Emergency Radio Organizations President, Bloomington Amateur Radio Association Deputy Director, Bloomington AUXCOMM

Matt, et al; I did receive a copy of the letter about the FFMA from an active VHF DX enthusiast in my Division. I responded to the rather negative comments in the letter about the PSC's perceived lack of the proper skill set required to approve contest rule changes for anything above 30 MHz. I assured him that the PSC will still be relying on the CAC and other committees and interested groups as required to ensure there is ample feedback before our decisions are made. We have a very active VHF group here, the Northwest VHF Society, and I would certainly get them involved with any decision we made regarding VHF/UHF matters before the PSC. He was very happy with that response. 73; Mike W7VO
