[arrl-odv:13523] Re: Scout Committee Report Document 28

The report says, "Other issues that have been raised by committee members as a result of their investigations point to the need to get away from the idea that our (ARRL) program is aimed at recruiting new hams." This is an excellent insight that I hope the committee will follow up on. To get more cooperation from the Scout organizations, we have to convince them that Amateur Radio benefits their organizations and their young members. When we can show in realistic ways how Amateur Radio significantly helps the Scout organizations achieve their goals, we won't appear self-aggrandizing and will have a much better chance of getting them to expend their resources in ways that end up helping us get where we want to go. Of course we want something from them, but we won't get it if we can't prove to them that they want something from us. 73 - Kay N3KN
