[arrl-odv:21744] OFCOM taking spectrum from hams (UK)

Spectrum issues for hams in the UK: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/06/12/ofcom_kicks_hams_out_of_mod_bands/ '73 de JIM N2ZZ ARRL Vice Director Roanoke Division

I've mentioned the global situation at 2.3-2.4 GHz a couple of times before. At 3.4 GHz the situation is somewhat different. In ITU Region 1 only Germany, Israel and the UK have an amateur allocation (3400-3475 MHz) although other European amateurs working through CEPT have gained some access to 3400-3410 MHz. But the 3.4-3.6 GHz band has been earmarked for mobile wireless broadband expansion for some time. Our continued access to 3.3-3.5 GHz in the US is dependent upon military requirements continuing to trump commercial pressure.
