The OTs up in se Nebraska recall the story of some young ham stationed up at Offutt who was chatting on 2M AM with a local. In the course of the ragchew he made some remarks about the "man in charge" that were less that entirely complimentary. At some point another ham came into the roundtable and tipped the fact that the lad's contact was (I don't recall at present) either Gen. LeMay or Gen. Griswold (K0GRL)......
