[arrl-odv:19638] Re: QST Demos - More

I agree emphatically with the importance of getting this right. There are people in the world who are experts in "human factors", and one of the things they do is evaluate user interfaces of computer programs for various kinds of ergonomic factors. Many will also let you know about the degree of friendliness of a website/interface for those with various disabilities. I think this choice is sufficiently important that it would be worthwhile to get such an evaluation before we commit to any interface/vendor. Perhaps the League and/or Fathom already have access to such a person. Perhaps there are volunteers who have this expertise, and as long as it is at a professional level, I think that would be OK. No matter what, I think it will diminish the amount of egg on everyones' faces if we perform an evaluation before selecting the vendor. -- 73, Greg, KØGW Director, Dakota Division ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kay Craigie" <n3kn@verizon.net> To: "arrl-odv" <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2011 10:30:44 AM Subject: RE: [arrl-odv:19612] QST Demos - More Several people have posted comments about the electronic QST demos. Others may have sent comments directly to Harold. I would like to encourage everyone on the Board to play, a lot, with the demos on whatever platforms you have available, and send in your comments both pro and con. Everybody's going to have an opinion about this product when it's finally seen by members at some time in the future. It is very important for all of us have opinions NOW and contribute them to the process of getting this right before it is ever seen by members. 73 - Kay N3KN
