Thanks Karl. Yes, I am aware of the "Day in the Park" event. Unfortunately that day Dave, Kay and I will be heading to Brazil for the IARU Region II Conference and will miss it. 73 Joel W5ZN -----Original Message----- From: Karl Bullock [mailto:karl@bullock.org] Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2007 1:08 PM To: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:15338] Re: Trip Report - MFJ Enterprises/Ameritron/Hygain/Vectronics/Mirage, Starkville, MS Thanks, Joel, for coming down into my back yard, and bringing Dave. I'm sure he is now aware that down here we all wear shoes and are not married to our sister (at least in my family <g>). On September 7-8th, MFJ celebrates 35 years in business, and will be hosting the ARRL Day In The Park just down the street from MFJ Headquarters that weekend, with tours of their facilities and a lunch in the Park on Saturday. We'd love to have any of you join us in celebrating the contributions Martin has made to Ham Radio over the years. On a personal note, I was a student at Mississippi State in the early 70s and remember Martin's fledgling company operating out of a house trailer in a trailer park where a friend of mine was also living. Additionally, Martin was still a professor at MSU at the time, and was my faculty advisor! Naturally we became friends, and have stayed in touch ever since, and now my daughter is a student at MSU, and lives about a mile from MFJ. He's a great guy, and we are certainly thankful for the fine facilities at North Mississippi Medical Center where he underwent his bypass procedures. As a result, we hope Martin will be around for a long time. 73, Karl, WA5TMC -------------------------------------- "Of, By, and For..." - Not just words!
