Interesting NASA article posted today commemorating 20 years of ISS communications, including a mention of ARISS and ham radio. 73.. The International Space Station — a marvel of cooperative engineering, science, and research — has made this incredible feat possible. Throughout the mission, NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) networks have connected station astronauts with loved ones on Earth and empowered profound research on the orbiting laboratory. https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2020/the-international-space-station-20... _______________________________________________ Arrl-ariss mailing list Arrl-ariss@reflector.arrl.org https://reflector.arrl.org/mailman/listinfo/arrl-ariss

Thanks, Mark. Interesting article and nice reference about ham radio: In communications outreach, the space station has reached young people worldwide through amateur, or ham, radio. Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) organizes contacts between astronauts on the station and students, encouraging them to pursue STEM interests and careers. ARISS is also celebrating its 20 year anniversary this year on Nov. 13. 73,Rick - K5UR -----Original Message----- From: Mark J Tharp <kb7hdx@gmail.com> To: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Sent: Fri, Nov 6, 2020 11:29 am Subject: [arrl-odv:31297] Fwd: [Arrl-ariss:348] media hit tying in ARISS/ham radio on NASA site-- The International Space Station: 20 Years of Communications Excellence Interesting NASA article posted today commemorating 20 years of ISS communications, including a mention of ARISS and ham radio. 73..
