[ARRL-ODV:10389] LF reconsideration denied

Just for the record, yesterday the FCC released its denial of W6EM's petition for reconsideration of the Commission's denial of our request for an amateur LF allocation. The denial of the petition for reconsideration was inevitable, since the petitioner did not offer any new information (nor could we have, which is why we did not petition for reconsideration). The right way to pursue an LF allocation from this point forward is to continue to assist amateurs in obtaining experimental licenses or special temporary authorizations, and perhaps to consider alternatives outside the frequency range used by PLC systems. Here is the reference. Dave K1ZZ AMENDMENT OF PARTS 2 AND 97 OF THE COMMISSION'S RULES TO CREATE A LOW FREQUENCY ALLOCATION FOR THE AMATEUR RADIO SERVICE. Denied the Petition for Reconsideration filed by Mr. W. Lee McVey. (Dkt No. 02-98). Action by: the Commission. Adopted: 03/24/2004 by MO&O. (FCC No. 04-71).
