[arrl-odv:35164] Fwd: Now how cool is this PR for ham radio and ARISS...

FYI... You'll remember that ARISS began networking with Axiom Space Company around 2020 because we knew eventually the ISS will be sunsetted...and Axiom is building a space station. Once we had Axiom's confidence, we began helping their crew members get ham licenses and with how to use the ARISS radio station and we got agreements with, and for, them to support ARISS school contacts. One of the crew who did this is John Shoffner, KO4MJC; he flew in May 2023 and did a group of ARISS contacts and did ragchewing. As a boy he was licensed, let it lapse, and in 2021 took the exam again. Before flying, he decided to do a lot of filming of life in space so as to make a series of educational lessons afterward. One is on ARISS and ham radio. The Perseid Foundation posted these free lessons and you can watch ours—it's 3 minutes 20 seconds. URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZy97_VbbDM. I learned about the series 2 days ago. Mark, I hope you can share this with some of the Board and the staff. 73, Rosalie, K1STO
