[arrl-odv:23221] Washington Lobbying trip for H.R. 4969 -- Last Call

OK, gentlemen, this is a "last call" for information from anyone who is planning to come to Washington to do lobbying for H.R. 4969. We are literally out of time to start scheduling appointments for you, so if you haven't provided arrival and departure dates and times when you are available yet, and if you can't do so today, please plan to do your congressional contacts in the home districts in your division (which is turning out really well, so far, by the way, from the reports I have received) rather than here in Washington because the expense is substantial and in order to make it cost-effective for ARRL, TKG needs to keep Board members hopping from office to office. Either Alex at TKG or I have the schedules for the following individuals: President Craigie Mike Lisenco David Woolweaver Dick Isely Thanks to them for their effort and the information. We have not heard from David Norris about his availability, and Doug Rehman does not yet know if his business schedule will permit him to come to D.C. during either of the September periods. I have no indication that any other Board members are planning to come to D.C. for this initiative. Again, these are the most hectic periods on the Hill during the entire two-year term; they are the last two legislative periods of the year and scheduling appointments requires superhuman powers, which Alex, Frank, Matt and Steve at TKG have, but we can't push the envelope. You should NOT assume that drive-bys to these offices will work during this period, though they may have in the past. We need to point you and shoot you at the offices and TKG needs to go with you. So let us know, please. Thanks! 73, Chris W3KD -- Christopher D. Chris -- Unfortunately work doesn't have me in DC these days, and I'm within the stage of projects that keep me from slipping away from work to fly out there on my own. Thanks to everyone who is helping with the heavy lifting in town. 73, Brian N5ZGT
