6 DEC 2014 - 2341 CST To All Members Of Our Board Family: With all the ODV discussion about the proposed CEO job description and the current level of Executive Committee discussion on a couple of items, most of you might be asking why I have been silent. This past Tuesday, one of my wife's siblings, Nancy, (who are all younger than her) passed away a few days after being diagnosed she had cancer. It really caught everybody by surprise, but at least it was not a long painful battle. Judy and I participated in a series of phone calls concerning the passing of her sister Nancy and family plans for a memorial gathering in Kansas City, KS. As soon as I posted the CEOSC's message and attached file on the ODV, late Tuesday evening, we started getting ready for an early Thursday morning driving departure. Wednesday morning we were informed that the memorial service had been moved up to Thursday afternoon. We hit the road Wednesday afternoon and returned home Friday night. We did not wake up until late this morning. The purpose of my message is not to solicit sympathy, but to give you the reason why I have not been available the last few days. 73 - Dick, W9GIG
