Attached please find the final minutes for the July 2018 Board meeting. On Wednesday I will put out an email request asking for approval.
Per the Standing Orders, these minutes will be posted to the web and emailed out to the list of those signed up to receive them shortly.
Thanks Mike! As I have been saying for the last few Board meetings, we shouldn't be holding up the news of actions taken until after the minutes are approved. I know that's not your call. It's already been more than eight days and the news is spreading by word of mouth and we are not controlling the various stories any more. I've already had a number of phone calls and e-mails asking what happened. Members are interested and do care what we do and don't do. The awards winners could have been announced two Sundays ago. The new Volunteer Monitoring program could have had its own story a week ago after SM/OOC/OOs were notified, etc. -- Tom ===== e-mail: k1ki@arrl.org ARRL New England Division Director http://www.arrl.org/ Tom Frenaye, K1KI, P O Box J, West Suffield CT 06093 Phone: 860-668-5444

I believe frequently in the past, News and Events stories about the Board meeting came out before the complete minutes were approved. I don’t recall any directive that required a change in this practice. High level summaries like that addressed people’s general questions, so that detailed minutes were just that—details. 73, Greg, K0GW On Monday, July 30, 2018, Tom Frenaye <frenaye@pcnet.com> wrote:

Tom: I don't disagree. The web story on the Board meeting just went live on the web site (in two parts, including all the awards). The minutes will be posted and emailed after the approval which will be requested on Thursday, per the January, 2018 motion (Minute 44). 73, Barry J. Shelley, N1VXY Chief Executive Officer ARRL, Inc.
