[arrl-odv:18172] Re: FCC, Part 97.113, and EMCOMM

There was a huge hubbub at FCC that was started by PSHSB at FCC?concerning Section 97.113 and the "on behalf of one's employer" provision specifically. The long and short of it (details to follow) is that PSHSB spoke far out of school and the Wireless Bureau and Enforcement Bureau will be setting the record straight, in writing, soon. We are told that the "straight record" will parrot our guidelines document, which was well-received by WTB. Please do not further disseminate?the?misinformation?that has been circulated?about what a PSHSB staff person with no jurisdiction over Section 97.113 has had to say by telephone. People hear what they want to hear, especially on this issue. FCC?continues to obfuscate, unfortunately, because the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau doesn't know its jurisdictional limits. 73, Chris W3KD? Christopher D. The drill, in which I participated, was successfully held last weekend. Dan Henderson is aware of the correspondence referred to in Brian's e-mail. 73 - Kay N3KN
