[arrl-odv:32241] Re: Centurion Award recipients

There are five people listed in the Southwestern Division. W6TJO, Encino, CA, 623 QRZ hits - license expired in 2020, membership expires 2022, 7.5 years ago put some info on QCWA site. KA6IGG, Orange, CA, 692 QRZ hits - license expired in 2014, Life member, apparent mother of N6BVU(SK) WD6AXA, Torrance, CA, 194 QRZ hits - Life member, apparent widow of W6XS(SK) (there is a new W6XS), spreadsheet says possible DOB error, but everywhere I look confirms DOB KC6YBJ, Manhattan Beach, CA , 141 QRZ hits - membership expires June 2021 WA7FPO, Greer, AZ, 7516 QRZ hits - Life member I do not know if any of them are still alive. I have never heard of any of them. Of the five, the licenses of two are expired, (one expired in 2014) indicating possible death, disinterest in ham radio, or illness/dementia precluding attention. Two are apparently life family members who were connected with deceased active hams. One, WA7FPO, appears to have been an active ham. I do not know if he is alive, active, or sentient. I do not know how he would view such a plaque. Although he is located only 630 miles from me, I am not sure the cost of presenting a plaque would be a cost-effective use of League funds. I do not see the value to ham radio or the ARRL to create and present these birthday plaques, even if any of those listed are still alive. 73, Dick On Thursday, April 15, 2021, 11:38:49 AM PDT, Richard Norton <richardjnorton@yahoo.com> wrote: Plaques? I seem to remember free QST, but must not have noticed plaques. Plaques are a bad idea.
