[ARRL-ODV:10535] Re: President Bush encourages BPL

I don't know where Kerry stands, but I sure would like to know. BTW, I copied Bush's speech to the Division along with a few comments about why it's significant to us, along with a brief explanation of BPL (yes, there are a few members who still don't know what's happening), and a lot of folks sent me a note saying that they had used the link to disagree with the President's promotion of this technology. I was pleased with the response I got. It's clear that many members appreciated learning about this speech. 73, Walt W0CP -----Original Message----- From: Tom Frenaye [mailto:frenaye@pcnet.com] Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 6:47 PM To: arrl-odv Subject: [ARRL-ODV:10529] Re: President Bush encourages BPL (2nd try - I sent this yesterday but never saw it posted) At 08:39 PM 4/26/2004, K1ZZ wrote:
Rick, that motion spoke only of the Senate and Congress. The target of this effort will be the White House. However, we can now update the package and make it clear to everyone on the Hill that the White House has stepped in it.
Now that we know where Prez Bush stands on BPL, do we have any idea if Sen Kerry thinks the same way? How do we find out? And, how are we working to get it in front of him as an issue? -- Tom ===== e-mail: k1ki@arrl.org ARRL New England Division Director http://www.arrl.org/ Tom Frenaye, K1KI, P O Box J, West Suffield CT 06093 Phone: 860-668-5444
