I can offer some background data. Each week, we mail membership solicitations to new licensees. The process uses a rather complicated programming script that extracts the new licensee data directly from the FCC databases. These ongoing mailings generate among our largest direct mail return rate-about 11%. The good new this year is that the pool of solicitation candidates-new licensees-has been remarkably higher than recent years. We've mailed to 14,546 new licensees through June, compared to 8,321 during the same period in 2006. New membership returns from just these mailings have totaled 1,345 through June (712 in Jan-June 2006). I've also attached a report for that has been used to these mailings. Some of us (me included) believe we should be doing even better than an 11% response rate among these "hot" membership prospects.
