Bill Pennington picked up the Missouri SEC item and forwarded it to Jim Max, Steve Ewald and a couple of others along with his "strong agreement" with the SEC's objection to ARRL advertising the badge. It really doesn't matter how long the product has been around - we're here, now, and it's come up for discussion. Getting back to the question of how long the product has been around, I have found an ad in April 1997 QST. I haven't gone back pre-1997.
